TRY OUT TIMES ARE 6:00PM - 7:30PM

MASTER SCHEDULE FOR BLAST BY THE BAY










RULES FOR BLAST BY THE BAY



2014 Blast By The Bay Tournament Rules

1.  All games will be played under 2014 ASA rules except where modified by these rules

2.  Each team will play three (3) games in pool play on Friday/Saturday followed on Sunday by a single elimination tournament.  Each division will be divided into a gold and silver flight based on pool play overall records.

3.  There is a 75 minute time limit for pool play or 7 innings.  No new inning starts after 65 minutes.  The time begins at coin toss.

4.  If after 7 innings the game is tied on Saturday, the game ends in a tie. 

5.  International tiebreaker will be used on Sunday, after time has expired or after 7 innings, until there is a winner

6.  Run rules: 12 runs after 3, 10 runs after 4, 8 runs after 5

7.  Championship games will be 7 innings long with the same run rule in effect.

8.  Game time is forfeit time.

9.  There is no infield practice.

10.  Team listed first on schedule will occupy 3rd base dugout.  Teams playing back to back games shall remain in the same dugout if they are on the same field.

11.  Home team will be determined by a coin toss during pool play.  During elimination play on Sunday, the higher seed will be home team.

12.  No protests.  The umpires decisions are final.

13.  Home team will keep official scorebook.   At the conclusion of each game, the umpire will complete a scorecard, sign it, and submit it to the field marshal.

14.  All line up changes must go through the umpire.

15.  Pool play seedings will be 10 points for a win, 5 points for a tie, and 0 points for a loss.

16.  Tie breakers are as follows: A) head to head record, B) fewest runs allowed, C) Coin Toss

17.  Game times and fields are subject to change by the tournament director.

18.  Teams will be allowed to bring in one team cooler for beverages only.  No outside food allowed.  This event is a major fundraiser for our Travel Ball Organization.  We do not charge admission, but ask that you support us by utilizing our snack bar facilities for your food and beverage needs.

19.  No dogs allowed on the high school fields.  Dogs are permitted on leash at Anna Jean Cummings Park.  Please clean up after your pet. 

20.  Per ASA rules, no jewelry is to be worn in tournament play.  It will be enforced.  Tape or band aids are not acceptable protection.  The umpires will enforce this.

21. If any team must play four games during pool play, the scores and results will be placed in a hat, and a representative from another team will be asked to pick three of the 4 results from a hat.  Those numbers will be used to determine Sunday’s seeding.

22. In the 8U division, Blast By The Bay will deviate from the ASA rule, and enforce the following, Play stops when the ball hit to the outfield gets in the control of the pitcher INSIDE THE PITCHING CIRCLE.

23. The tournament director at any time has the authority to make the final decision in any dispute and the authority to make changes to benefit and better the tournament. 


24.  No artificial noisemakers of any kind will be allowed.  

25.  Championship games will have a 90 minute time limit, 7 innings, or run rule.

The Cabrillo Crushers would like to welcome you to this year’s 2014 Blast By The Bay Tournament, held at Anna Jean Cummings Park and Soquel High School, in beautiful Santa Cruz County.    This year’s Tournament will begin with games on Friday, July 11, continued pool play on July 12, and conclude with two separate four team “flights” on Sunday, with a gold and silver division champion on July 13th.  

We encourage everyone to support and purchase items from our snack shack and vendors, including:

·      Ron, “The Mitt Mender” Fuqua can repair/recondition gloves on site, plus has numerous gloves for sale

·      Home Made Bake sale supporting Mid County Soccer

All five (5) fields are located within steps of one another.  There will be plenty of bathrooms, room to spread out for picnics between games, and an awesome playground for children of all ages.
